Hardship: Seek advice from Zimbabwe, they had this problem recently – Obasanjo tells Tinubu Administration

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has suggested that the current administration in Nigeria might explore the possibility of engaging with the government of Zimbabwe to tackle the unprecedented level of inflation in the country.

Speaking at a youth leadership symposium as part of activities marking his 87th birthday on Monday, he emphasized that Nigeria could draw lessons from Zimbabwe’s experiences.

Obasanjo highlighted Zimbabwe’s recent success in overcoming a similar economic challenge, suggesting that Nigeria could benefit from its insights.

Encouraging Nigerians to remain resilient amidst the prevailing circumstances, Obasanjo stressed the importance of perseverance during tough times. He urged citizens to turn to God for guidance, assuring them that the economic difficulties and hunger they currently face are temporary.

“Committing suicide is not the end of any problem, confront it and take it to God because he could do anything.

“Zimbabwe had this problem recently. Shouldn’t we ask them how they did it even if our approach will be different?

“Even if whatever we shall be doing will be different, we can ask questions to navigate our way out,” he added.
