My father died because we didn’t have money for hospital bed space – Odumodublvck
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Ojogwu, reflected on his past as an aspiring artist, revealing how financial struggles led to the loss of his father, as they couldn’t afford a hospital bed priced at N70,000.
He shared that they had to bring his father home where he eventually passed away. He emphasized that his challenging journey solidified his belief that no artist directly facilitated his musical success. He said this reacting to a statement by veteran Eedris Abdulakreem who had stated that he paved the way for the present day artists.
While he acknowledged inspiration from fellow rappers, he maintained that no one specifically cleared the path for him.
On his X handle on Wednesday, Odumodublvck wrote: “When my father died my family was poor. We could not pay hospital bed space of 70k [N70,000]. We had to take him home.
“Coming to tell me about paving the way for me? That’s God, brother. No use your ego counter reason my reality, bros.
“I agree say you inspire me. But bros, you pave the way for nobody. Nobody!
“I hate when n*ggas try to play God.”
