Edo 2024: Idahosa emerges APC candidate

Dennis Idahosa, a member of the House of Representatives, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Edo State governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who chaired the APC Edo Governorship Primary Election Committee, made the announcement in Benin following the conclusion of the election on Saturday. Uzodinma revealed that Idahosa secured 40,483 votes, defeating eight other contenders in the race. Notably, Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and Chief Lucky Imasuen had withdrawn from the primary election.
