N5 billion Naira was allocated for student loan while 12 times the amount was used to buy official cars – Peter Obi slams Federal Government Budget

Peter Obi has criticized the insufficient focus on human capital development in Nigeria, attributing it to many investment challenges. The former governor of Anambra state found it alarming that the national budget lacked prioritization for critical areas of investment.

He highlighted the 2024 budget, questioning the allocation of N5 billion for student loans compared to a larger N6 billion for a legislative car park. Obi argued for cutting governance costs and prioritizing expenditure on growth and development to achieve meaningful and lasting progress in the country.
