AFCON Winners To Receive Record $7 Million Prize
The 2024 Africa Cup of Nations winners are set to receive a historic prize of seven million dollars, marking a 40% increase from the previous edition. The runners-up, Ivory Coast, will be awarded four million dollars for hosting the tournament.
Other cash prizes include $2.5 million for losing semi-finalists and $1.3 million for quarter-finalists. The tournament, featuring host Ivory Coast and 23 other teams, kicks off on January 13, with Ivory Coast facing Guinea-Bissau in the opener at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
