Those peddling this rumour should stop so as not to cause unnecessary panic  – Shehu Sani speaks on alleged N1200 Fuel Pump Price

Former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani cautioned against spreading rumors about premium motor spirit being sold for N1200, urging individuals to avoid unnecessary tension.

The clash between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and fuel marketers over the subsidy removal, coupled with the naira’s depreciation, has led to speculation about increased PMS prices.

However, Sani emphasized that without official statements from both the NNPCL and marketers, people should refrain from disseminating such unverified information.

“Neither the oil marketers nor the NNPCL proposed any increase of pump price to N1200 per litre,” he wrote on X.

“Those peddling this rumour should stop so as not to cause unnecessary panic, disruptions and further hardships and suffering.”
