Pope Francis approves allowing Catholic priests to bless same-s3x couples 

Pope Francis has officially approved the blessing of same-sex couples, emphasizing that requests for blessings should not be denied outright. However, he maintains the traditional stance that marriage is a sacrament between a man and a woman.

A Vatican document released on Monday provides guidance on the matter, stating that an exhaustive moral analysis should not be a prerequisite for conferring a blessing. The document clarifies that such blessings should not mimic wedding ceremonies associated with heterosexual unions, but it highlights the importance of fostering openness to God’s transcendence and mercy in various life circumstances.

Despite this shift, the Vatican continues to uphold the indissoluble union concept for heterosexual marriages.
