Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, has used his platform to issue a wake-up call to parents.

In his social media post, Edafe highlighted the issue of parents investing significant effort in grooming their daughters while granting excessive freedom to their sons, resulting in potential dangers for the girls. He pointed out that visits to hotels often expose the presence of underage girls hosted by boys engaging in inappropriate activities.

He wrote; ‘’We are always talking about the girl child, the girl child, and allow the boy child so much freedom to the extent that we lose control and when they grow up, they become dangerous to the girl child we spent all our resources training and safeguarding. Go to hotels now, you see underage girls and underage boys doing nonsense. What is a 16-year-old girl doing with a guy in a Hotel for days? Some of them are already consumed with hard drugs. A WAKE UP CALL TO ALL OUR PARENTS MYSELF INCLUSIVE.”
