”I lost my parents in a fire accident when I was a kid” — Toke Makinwa

Media Personality, Toke Makinwa has revealed that her parents passed away in a fire accident during her formative years, making it her most significant fear.

She disclosed this on the latest episode of her podcast, where she hosted comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY. During the conversation and inquiring about a recent fire incident at AY’s Lagos residence, Toke recounted her own experience with a similar tragic event many years ago.

She said, “I’ve been a victim of a house fire when I was a kid and unfortunately both my parents died as a result of that. That’s one of my biggest fears.

AY responded: “Sorry about that. I’m just hearing this for the first time.”

“I woke up to about 78 missed calls on the day of the incident. And I opened my phone and saw my house on Instablog.

“The fact that my family was on holiday, was my point of Thanksgiving.”
