I find it disrespectful for young people to call me by name – Shaffy Bello
Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has expressed her displeasure at being addressed by her first name by younger individuals, finding it disrespectful. She stated that she is annoyed when greeted casually with a ‘Hi’ and a wave by younger people.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Me, Her And Everything Else podcast, the actress recognizes the cultural variations worldwide, acknowledging the influence of cultures and upbringings on people’s greetings. Despite these differences, she emphasizes her preference for being addressed as “Ma’am” rather than by her first name, Shaffy.
On how she handles young people who call her by her name, Bello said, “Usually my response is simple and I say it with love, I pull them close and I tell them ‘you haven’t earned the right to call me by my name, I have a child as old as you are. Even if I didn’t have children you haven’t earned the right, and you would never earn the right at your age to call me my name.”
that is too bad but it’s your job that warrant such actions from them……
