He has undergone five successful surgeries – John Okafor’s family gives update on actor’s health

Nollywood actor John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, has undergone five successful surgeries.

Earlier, the iconic actor, while marking his 63rd birthday in the hospital, made an appeal to Nigerians to assist in covering his medical expenses.

While seeking public support, Mr Ibu disclosed his struggle with an illness that could potentially threaten his leg.

In a recent update via his Instagram page, his family mentioned that he has successfully undergone five surgeries. Nonetheless, he remains in the process of recuperation in the ICU, aiming to stabilize before seeking advanced treatment abroad.

The statement partly reads, “So far, Daddy has gone through 5 successful surgeries, and he is still recovering in the ICU. Daddy is immensely grateful and we are thankful to the general public during this phase of our lives. We appreciate all the donations made to this account, and as soon as Daddy is better he will personally acknowledge all donations respectively!

“We are still counting on all your prayers and unwavering support as we pray he gets stabilized quickly to enable us to fly him abroad for further advanced treatment… The John Okafor family is grateful to all Nigerians.”
