The world is not ready to listen to conscious lyrics, this generation does not even know their gender – Music executive, Dayo Adeneye
Dayo Adeneye, a seasoned music industry figure known as D1, has highlighted the challenges artists face in creating socially aware music due to the prevailing moral decline in today’s society.
During a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, D1 emphasized that creating conscious music is now a challenging feat for artists, as it may not find widespread commercial success in the contemporary world.
He also commented on the materialistic tendencies observed in many women of this era, expressing concern that modern relationships often emphasize physical attributes over other intrinsic values, causing a diminished perception of their worth beyond sexual aspects.
He said, “Right now, the world is not ready to listen to anything conscious. Is it this generation that doesn’t know their gender that you want to preach conscious lyrics to?
“Today, someone with beards would tell you, ‘I’m Linda’. Is it that kind of person you want to preach conscious lyrics to?”
that is very true….
