Tinubu inherited an economy that was like a dead horse but still standing – Soludo
Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo remarked that President Bola Tinubu inherited an economy that, metaphorically speaking, resembled a nearly lifeless horse but was still upright.
Soludo made this observation during an interview on Channels TV on Friday, September 1, when he was questioned about Tinubu’s position regarding allocating 90 percent of the country’s revenue to external debt servicing.
He applauded the President for taking the courageous step to remove the fuel subsidy.
He said; “This government inherited, from a macroeconomic standpoint, I would say the economy was like a dead horse but standing, and modeling through this over the coming months we will bumpy, no question about it. But I am glad that at least, the first salvos by the president, by his courageous step to remove the obnoxious scam that has festered over the years called petrol subsidy and then dealing with the exchange rate.
