If Obi would have been better, Nigerians would have voted for him – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, commented that had Peter Obi, the flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP), been a more suitable candidate, Nigerians might have chosen him in the February 25, 2023 election.

He said this in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday, August 30, Wike addressed the economic challenges facing Nigerians under the new administration.

He observed that unrealistic expectations from citizens were prevalent and emphasized the need for patience. Responding to a query about whether Peter Obi could have managed the country’s economic challenges better than Tinubu, Wike stated that he no longer engages in discussions about presidential candidates.

“I don’t want to discuss social media issue,” the FCT minister said. “I don’t discuss about presidential candidate any longer; I discuss about the economy, the President, what he has to offer. If he (Obi) would have been better, Nigerians would have voted for him.” he said
