Pump price increase: This is the energy and economic reality we have to live with until manna comes or a miracle happens – Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reacted to the recent increase in the petroleum pump price, which has risen from N539 to N617 in the Federal Capital Territory and other regions of Nigeria

In light of this upward review, Sani, a former federal lawmaker, linked the development to the depreciation of the Nigerian currency (Naira). He suggested that as the value of the Naira continues to decline, the price of fuel may continue to rise, making it a challenging reality for Nigerians to contend with.

On his official Twitter handle, Sani shared his views, stating that the current situation might only be altered by a miracle.

He wrote, “Petroleum is imported with foreign currency. If the value of the foreign currency goes up, the price of petrol will go up, especially now with the removal of subsidy.

“This is the energy and economic reality we have to live with until manna comes or miracle happens”.
