I am not on a vendetta mission, Governor Yusuf says, tells his critics to wait till the end of his tenure

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has clarified that the demolition exercise he initiated should not be interpreted as an act of personal vengeance.

Since assuming office on May 29, Governor Yusuf has ordered the demolition of structures that he deemed to have been constructed “illegally” and approved by the previous administration under Abdullahi Ganduje. He also alleged that certain influential individuals in the former administration were allocated these public properties.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Hisham Habib, Governor Yusuf emphasized that it is unacceptable for anyone in a position of power to seize public assets and convert them for personal use.

Furthermore, he urged his critics to maintain a record of his achievements and pass judgment on his performance at the end of his tenure.
