Nigeria is worse off for not having someone like Osinbajo as President – Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi

Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has expressed regret that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is not the President of Nigeria. He said Nigeria missed an opportunity by not electing Osinbajo as its leader, and he blamed the country’s political system for the failure to do so

The former Central Bank Governor said this during the virtual launch of the book titled “Osinbajo Strides: Defining Moments of an Innovative Leader”

Sanusi also praised Osinbajo’s ability to engage in debates and present superior arguments, noting that he is one of the few individuals in the current administration who possess such qualities.

“And I dare say, we all agree that Nigeria is worse off for not having someone like him (Osinbajo) as president, but I do hope that he will be available to serve and to advise and to put in his best for the country and continue to do.

“So I’m sure he will, in whatever capacity he finds himself in the future, and maybe we’ll still be lucky to have him lead us at some point or take some leadership role as a statesman,” Sanusi said.
