when this strike is over, a large number of our lecturers are going to migrate from this country – ASUU president, Osodeke
President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke has said that when the strike is finally over most of the Lecturers will migrate from the country
He said this following a court order for the union to suspend the strike without a notable agreement between them and the Federal Government
Osodeke in an interview on Channels Television said the outcome of the verdict will be catastrophic
He said; “Let me tell you the catastrophe of what has just happened. The last time this happened was during the military era.
“I can assure you, when this strike is over, a large number of our lecturers are going to migrate from this country. When you are using force to push your lecturers to class.
“First of all, they said, ‘If we owe them, if we don’t pay them, they will come and beg us.’ Seven months, it didn’t work. Our members are still alive. And then, they went to court, you want to force them. It is a catastrophe,” Osodeke said.
that is true but there are also people who are looking for and will fills the void left by those who left the country……..
Forcing lectures to the class room is not the best option, government should sit and dialogue with them
Surely, lectures should look for alternative because I don’t think the federal will summon the courage and settle the issue amicably. This is bad
