It is insulting to say no Christian is competent to be Vice President. Tinubu needs to apologize – Senator Elisha Abbo

Lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo has said that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC Bola Tinubu should apologize to Christians for saying that no christian is competent to be Vice President.

Tinubu had picked Former Borno state Governor, Kassim Shettima as his running mate which now has the party running on a Muslim-Muslim ticket

This has stirred a lot of controversies across the country especially from the christians.

Senator Abbo in an interview on AIT described the act as an insult to Christians

In his words ”I think it is insulting to say no competent Christian to be a Vice President. How competent is Tinubu to be President? If you say my father is not competent, no Bishop is competent, no Christian Professor is competent? I think that is annoying, that is insulting and he should apologise to Christians for saying that.

“He should come and apologise to Christians for saying that….that it is based on competency…That is insulting.I have said this before. This shouldn’t be what Christians are crying out for. Muslims should be the ones to take up this fight and say we do not accept this because it is against the Muslim faith
