Chelsea might wear blank shirts against Norwich as Three ends sponsorship immediately
Telecommunications firm, Three, have confirmed that they are suspending their £40m-a-year shirt sponsorship deal with Chelsea immediately.
This follows the sanctions imposed on the club’s owner Roman Abramovich by the UK.
The Russian billionaire has had his assets frozen in the UK following his country’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
However, the 55-year-old continues to deny any links with president Vladimir Putin.
Three’s logo will now no longer appear on Chelsea shirts and on advertising boards around Stamford Bridge with immediate effect and until further notice.
“We recognise that this decision will impact the many Chelsea fans who follow their team passionately. However, we feel that given the circumstances, and the Government sanction that is in place, it is the right thing to do,” the statement reads in part.
that is bad news for them….
