Exclusive: Gov Fayemi Allegedly Sneaks In His Own List for Ekiti Governorship Primaries in Bid to impose Annointed Candidate

According to News reaching us, there are indications that as of the afternoon of Sunday January 23rd, the Gov. Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Committee may have adopted the list submitted by Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State of the seven-member committee to conduct the Governoship primaries slated for Thursday, 27th January 2022.

A source close to the Government House in Ekiti State was quoted as authoritatively giving the name of the Election Panel Chairman as Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State while the Secretary would be one Rt. Hon. Victor Olabongon.

Governor Fayemi was said to have submitted the name of Gov. Badaru in replacement for that of Gov. Sule of Nassarawa who was earlier recommended by Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment who was said to have served on the board of Dangote Group with Gov. Sule in the past.

Other members of the commitee include Kafilat Ogbara, Julius Ogunro, Tayo Adewokun and Hon. Lanre Isa. The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, was quoted as saying nothing could happen in APC without them while assuring the women leaders who went to see her that Gov. Badaru and his Committee members had been given clear instructions to return Biodun Oyebanji, the former Secretary to State Government who is believed to be the annointed candidate of the Fayemis and Otunba Niyi Adebayo.

The rumours of Gov. Badaru mission to Ekiti filtering out of Ekiti Govt House is already generating tension in the State and talks among Stateholders are already going on as to what steps to take if eventually the committee is announced as allegedly composed.

The Stakeholders are said to be wondering if indeed the President and other national Stakeholders in APC would allow the party to die in Ekiti even if the Fayemis were bent on going the way of perfidy to kill the party.
