“Nigeria is next” Bisi Alimi writes as Botswana loses court bid to revoke gay rights
Gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi has reacted after Botswana’s government lost a court bid to revoke gay rights.
Botswana’s High Court in 2019 ruled in favor of campaigners seeking to strike down jail sentences for same-sex relationships, declaring the punishment to be unconstitutional. Botswana’s government attempted to overturn the landmark ruling that decriminalized homosexuality but the government lost on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021.
Reacting to this in a post on Instagram, Bisi applauded the ruling adding that Nigeria is next. He wrote: “Homophobia will not last forever! Nigeria is next!”
this country is not gonna get to that and they won’t ever allowed gay people to rein in this country….
