You have no right to decide who stays in Nigeria – Nnamdi Kanu blasts FG

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, has said that it is not the duty of the Federal Government to decide who stays or leaves the country.

Kanu made the assertion on Saturday via a tweet on his official Twitter handle reacting to a recent statement by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. -Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru where he noted that the military was ready to deal with all separatists disturbing the cooperate existence of Nigeria.

He said those inciting disintegration will be dealt with.

However, Kanu in a tweet said the decision of whether the country would disintegrate or remain integrated should be determined by the people via a referendum.

He noted that not even the military has such power.

“Dear Nigerian Govs
It’s not your business to decide whether the people of your State should remain Nigerians or not. It’s not even the business of @NGRPresident or the @HQNigerianArmy.

“Instead, it’s the business of the PEOPLE, freely expressed through a process called REFERENDUM”, the tweet reads.

  1. If the government could do something meaningful that will benefit people, no one will ever think of leaving

  2. Is only in Nigeria, that the government is fighting with there life’s to remain one, its obvious we can’t remain as one, and this one Nigeria is always coming from North because they know what they are gaining. How can suppress people freedom out your own selfish desire, without minding the feelings of others. We are to decide where we want to stay. We are the government. We are the people and we have the power.
