Responding to every issue will make Buhari a talkative President – Femi Adesina
The presidency has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari cannot respond to every matter or he might be tagged a talkative president.
Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media, Femi Adesina, stated this while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.
Adesina, talking about the herdsmen crisis, stated that the president has spoken a number of times on the issue, and had made his position known that anyone who carries arms unlawfully should be arrested and prosecuted.
Reacting to Abdullahi Ganduje’s comment where he had called on the Senate to enact a law that would stop herdsmen from taking their cows from the north ot the south to prevent clashes with farmers, Adesina pointed out that it was an idea and the president cannot comment on every idea.
He said, “When you have knotty issues like this, many ideas will be proffered, many solutions will be canvassed. The President does not have to speak on each and every one of them.
“He does not have to, it was just an idea being proffered. It should be looked into and then if it is a consensus, it should be adopted. But it is not as one idea comes the President speaks on it, another idea comes, the President speaks on it, such must be a talkative President.”
hmmmmm… but if those issues that need addressing is not attended to then it will leads to something else….
We didn’t expect him to be responding to every words but sensitive one that can effect on the unity of the country or otherwise.
But it is not also good to keep quiet on the issue that needs urgent attention like the issue of herdsmen, banditry and also kidnapping.
