“If you cannot provide security, allow Citizens to buy AK-47” – Taraba state Governor, Darius Ishaku, tells FG
Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku has called on the Federal government to allow Nigerians carry licensed guns in order to defend themselves against criminal elements.
He said this on Tuesday, February 2 when he received 15 local government chairmen of the state in his office who paid him a condolence visit after the burial of one of them who was kidnapped and subsequently killed by gunmen.
Ishaku Expressed worry over the failed security system of the country. He however noted that citizens cannot just sit and do nothing while they wait for who dies next.
He said;
“The security in this country has gone to the lowest ebb and we have to all wake up. We as leaders have given our advises severally as to the change to the security architecture, you cannot keep doing one thing over and over and expect a different result,” he said.
“If we cannot be able to provide security for our citizens, then allow all the citizens to buy AK-47, because if everybody is licensed with AK-47, I swear nobody will come to your house, or peradventure he does then it depends on who is faster.
“In a situation where we are all gagged with one security system that has been unable to work, and we are told to sit down and be counting the day our turn will come, I do not agree with it.”
that is a good advice…… if you can’t protect them then let them protect themselves…..
It will be dangerous to allow every Nigerians to bear arms, government should stand up against the killing of people not necessarily need to license gun for individual.
May God comes to our rescue because the way all these bandits are killing people is worst in every state and I hope that the federal government will tackle it sooner.
If all those that have been trained by bandits are allowed to bear arms, that is problem in the country.
I don’t think so, because if that happens we will result to killing each other In a little conflict. There must be other ways
