Zamfara: I have never given vehicles to bandits – Matawalle
Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has reacted to claims that he donated vehicles to bandits.
Matawalle called a meeting with the traditional rulers, religious leaders and security chiefs at the Government House in Gusau, the capital to discuss the spate of insecurity in the State.
The Governor denied providing logistics to neither operating bandits nor the repentant ones as he also questioned the Brigade Commander of the Nigerian Army, Gusau, to mention if he ever made such donations.
“I am in receipt of report that l bought Hilux vans to repentant bandits which l never did. Brig. Gen. Bello, have l ever given any vehicle to even repentant bandits in the state as reported recently?” he quipped.
In his response, the senior officer told the gathering that soldiers in the state, including himself, were surprised when they saw the report.
Bello said Matawalle never did that apart from the 200 operational vehicles given to the security agencies by the state government in 2020.
When I saw the news I was also suprised that is the next thing for the governor is to encourage banditry but once you have denied it no problem.
You are trying but not enough, you need to do something to make sure that all these insecurities become past tense in the state.
Instead of empowering these banditry in the name of repent, you should employ local vigilante to assist the police and soldiers.
Thank God you didn’t do it and implore you that if you have the intention you shouldn’t do it.
you politicians are unbelievable and untrust worthy… you can do me undo at any time….
