We are not contemplating a fresh lockdown- PTF
The Presidential Task Force on COVID19 has announced that the Federal government is not considering a fresh lockdown in the wake of the second wave of the pandemic.
In a letter allegedly from the task force, it was indicated that an imminent lockdown was set to begin this weekend. The PTF has described the letter as fake and has assured that there were no plans to impose a fresh lockdown.
A statement from Willie Bassey, the spokesperson of the PTF reads;
“The attention of the Presidential Task Force on COVID -19 has been drawn to some mis-information circulating on the social media to the effect that the Federal Government is contemplating another lockdown this weekend. The PTF wishes to state categorically that there is no such consideration at any of its meetings nor has any recommendation been made to this effect to the President.
“The PTF frowns at such unpatriotic mis-information which is capable of causing unnecessary panic and anxiety among the populace. It urges Nigerians to disregard the mis-information and join hands with the Federal Government to contain the spread of the virus in the country by adhering to Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPI’s) as recommended by the PTF.
That’s better not to lock us down because we have not recovered from the previous locked down.
Locking down is not the solution but provide necessary things to prevent us contracted the COVID-19 pandemic.
They should not even try it, in the last one you didn’t give us succur what is the assurance that they will provide succur for us.
Thank God that you didn’t propose any lock down because if you do, the citizens won’t obey it.
The lock down is not good but if it’s the only way to reduce this pandemic then we have to do it involuntary….
Don’t just do any lockdown again o… because we can not die with hunger .
The rate of porperty in the country is too much ooo for a fresh lockdown.
We jux have to work in accordance with the guidelines stipulated by NCDC
