Insecurity: Give Our Military more time and support, Buhari tells Nigerians
President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to Nigerians to give the military more time and support to be able to tackle the problem of insecurity in the country.
The president made this plea in his Christmas message to Nigerians, which was made available to State House Correspondents by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Mr Femi Adesina on Thursday.
“I plead with fellow compatriots to give our military and other security agencies more time, cooperation, and support by volunteering credible intelligence/information on activities of armed bandits, insurgents, and other criminal elements within their communities in order to put an end to this blight on our security landscape,”he said.
The President also challenged all Christians, and indeed, all Nigerians to reinvent to one another the values that the Christmas celebration represents, noting that the country is most in need of such virtues at the moment, having gone through series of stressful circumstances.
He said his administration would continue to work to make Nigeria safe for all residents by ensuring that the armed forces are properly and adequately equipped.
He, however, commended the armed forces and all security agencies for their efforts at keeping the country safe, charging them to do more to end crimes and criminals out of circulation in the country.
To me what the military truly need is just improvement because they had have enough time ago during this administration to actually come beat the spread of insecurity in the country
We have grow tired of patience with the military…. We need actions right cuz we have given them enough time as it is……
I will commend the effort of our military because they are really going through hell in tackling those terrorist but they need to do more in order make them a thing of history in our land. Kudos to the military personnel.
We need to encourage our military to do more but I think there are also some traitor among the military which needs to be fished out before they can record success in the fighting against terrorism.
The executive or those in charge our defense budget should make use of the money budgeted for defense available for them and use the money judiciously not a matter of sharing among yourself.
We can’t say they are not trying because they are human being like us but they adequate protection from their commander, and government should also motivate them, they also have family too oooo.
They have the time they need in the world I’m not judging that they are not doing their work but if it’s in terms of time they have had enough time since your administration going to about 5 or 6 years Now which other time do they need again before they can finally terminate the activities of banditry in Nigeria
How long are we going to give them
It is getting too long
I wonder if we will wait till all of us are wiped out before they wipe these criminals out completely
Please the military should go all out to finish these hoodlums away
This man is just a useless man.
