Security Agencies arrest Maina in Niger Republic

Former pension reform task team boss, Abdulrasheed Maina has been arrested in Niger Republic on Monday evening by operatives of Nigeria Intelligence Service and anti-corruption agents.

According to Intelligence sources Maina was arrested somewhere in Niger Republic and would be brought into Nigeria Tuesday or Wednesday.

Recall that Maina is being prosecuted on 12 counts of money laundering to the tune of N2bn by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

He jumped bail leading to the sentencing of the lawmaker who stood as surety, Senator Ali Ndume to prison and forcing the trial judge, Justice Abang Okon, to issue a warrant for his arrest. Ndume has however been released

  1. He (maina) should be brought to book because the way our government is handling corruption is very awful.

  2. Most of the elite or personality person always want to jump bail because they believe that they can do everything with their money they embezzled.

  3. Why telling us story everyday and always? Why can’t the federal government be sincere with fighting against corruption if not things will be worse than the present situation.

  4. Is that what we really need in Nigeria by now? Ordinary #2billion naira…. What did you do to does people that pack all State money and the country like…..akpabio, amachi and others? …..is better you release him because we are not impressed.

    Let him come back to the country and face his charges instead of being a fugitive
