Lekki Shooting: Army admits live, blank bullets were taken to Protest Venue
The Nigerian Army has admitted that it took live and blank bullets to the Lekki tollgate in Lagos during the EndSARS Protest which took place on the 20th of October.
A representative of the army, Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, who is the commander of the 81 Military Intelligence Brigade said the live rounds were not used on the protesters.
He stated this on Saturday when he appeared before the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up by the Lagos State government to look into the allegations of brutality by the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other issues raised by the Nigerian youths.
I don’t even understand what they mean by blank bullet or was it still the blank bullet that killed the peaceful protesters that day? Because to my own understanding the word “blank” means empty.
Please the army should know that they are not talking to fools..o
