“The whole Boko Haram Saga started with a protest” – Gov Zulum warns youths
Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum has warned that youths be careful during the proposed EndSARS protests.
According to Zulum, the Boko Haram crisis rocking the North East started as a result of a protest by some youths in Maiduguri against the use of helmet by motorcycle riders
Speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday November 6, Zulum stated that all those who started the protest in Borno have all left the state, having migrated to other parts of the country or even abroad.
“On the issue of #EndSARS, I am calling on all Nigerians especially the youths to be very careful. The whole Boko Haram saga started as a result of the protests by some youths in Maiduguri against the use of helmet by motorcycle riders. You have seen the situation now.
“Over one million people have been displaced and the most affected population are the vulnerable, the youth. Some of those that led the protests have left Borno State, they are either staying in Abuja or Lagos or abroad. we have to be very careful.”
“Now, there is emerging peace in Borno State and we don’t want anybody to disrupt the peace. The youths are with us, we are taking very good care of them, palliatives are being distributed to them as and when due.
“We are giving them some certain financial supports and I think the best way every Nigerian should seek for his/her right is through legitimate means, otherwise we are not going anywhere. Peace is very important, he said
What you are doing in your state all these remaining governors are not doing half of it instead hoarding palliative and using it as personal belongings.
Youths are not so dwaft to be causing violence at all the time but the issue that those politicians are not care about the future of the youths, that is major concern
That is true but the protest is also a freedom of our expressions which is our fundamental rights…
Infact You are one out of the million, if those leaders can emulate your kind heart things would have been moving forward. Protest is not the problem but living a better life
Well spoken me Governor but look at the incident of palliative, some governors are hoarding it while some rebag and sell, is this good? If not for the sake of those who burgled the warehouse we won’t know anything.
Correct
It can also happened like this as well. President muhammadu buhari is the official cause of this mess….he acted so slow, before everything reach to this stage… President suppose address the nation before worst, but President muhammadu buhari slept forgot.
If the protesters turn to terrorists…. useless President muhammadu buhari should be responsible for it.
Confused people everywhere.
I don’t really understand these so called leaders
Are you saying that people should continue to
Keep quiet while you people fry them in frying pan
Please that time is over and people must speak out now
You people should say something about it please
Yes… But that doesn’t mean the youth should be quiet.
Peaceful protest wouldn’t lead to insurgency rather violent ones.
