Strike – We are ready to resume – ASUU
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said its members are ready to end the seven months strike only when lecturers’ demands are met.
Prof Moyo Ajao, Chairperson of ASUU in UNILORIN who spoke at a press briefing on Wednesday said lecturers are ready to return to their duty post but they won’t work on an empty stomach.
Represented by the Ibadan Zonal Coordinator of ASUU, Prof. Ade Adejumo, Ajao said lecturers will return to work when the government releases their withheld salaries, remit the check-off dues of the union to the rightful owner.
“We are ready to suspend the strike as our children too are tired of staying at home but we cannot work on empty stomachs while politicians’ homes and warehouses are filled with palliative materials that they don’t even need, he said
Supported fully
No one is supposed to work on an empty stomach afterall all those government officials that call themselves our leaders feed fat on big salaries
All those politicians are very wicked, they don’t even care about the citizens at all, I will just implore the ASUU to soft peda on this issue of strike.
I support the ASUU on that … they can only resume if federal government reach there agreement and met there demanded. because I did not see the meaning of there 7months strike if they resume without met up with there demand.
ASUU should consider those affected students because those politicians didn’t consider the education of ordinary citizens as a matter that important to them.
Most of the politicians are corrupt and selfish, therefore, they don’t care about the future of those who doesn’t belong to their class.
Federal government should consider paying the ASUU their salary and look for a way to attend to their agitation because of those students that have wasted so much of their time at home.
Don’t reach any agreement with federal government without fufill your demand.
That is good and all we prayed for now is just that this useless administration of buhari address to there need and resume school again…
Federal Government is delaying ASUU, Lecturers and Nigerian students because their own children are not schooling in this country.
God is watching them.
The government should adhere to the demand of asuu…These lectures have family to feed and take care of
It will be better if you both come to an agreement. Our students are tired of staying at home.
I support u people if they have agreed what u people said no problem u can go back to work because nobody can work with empty stomach
Government should listen and grant their demands so as to end this strike,it has done more harm than good to the country at large.
They don’t worry about the strike because they’ve all taken their children to school abroad.
Wow! That will be good if asuu resume
