Abuja Concert: Naira Marley dragged to court
Popular Nigerian artiste, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has been dragged to the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja for flouting the presidential ban on interstate travels during the lockdown period.
During the Covid-19 lockdown in June this year, Naira Marley flew to Abuja, the Nation’s capital for a drive-through concert that took place at the Jabi Lake Mall. The concert caused a lot of controversy after videos from it showed guests flouting all COVID-19 protocols. Asides sealing the mall up, the Federal government shut down the operations of the airline that flew the singer and his crew to Abuja for the concert.
However, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, on Thursday told newsmen in Lagos that the police had filed charges against Marley for violating the COVID-19 order banning interstate travels earlier put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Naira Marley reported himself to the police command this morning following an invitation and he was then taken to court.
Y most it be him am does politicians that traveled that av any of them been arrested they should let him be
No one is supposed to be above the law so let the court decide and give their judgement
