Reopening of churches: Don’t let anyone drive you like Sheeps to the slaughter – Tunde Bakare warns

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the serving General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly has kicked against the reopening of churches by the Lagos state government.

During an online service, he urged worshippers not to be deceived by the government or religious leaders as he made it known that the Nigerian center for disease control (NCDC) predicted that August would be the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This comes after Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu of Lagos state ordered the reopening of worship centres from the 7th of August.

“I have to appeal to you once again, please keep safe and do your best to stay alive. Do not let anyone, whether religious leader or governmental leader, to drive you like a sheep to the slaughter, Bakare said

“If they (the government and the disease control authorities) said that the month of August is going to be the peak of the infection, why should they ask people to rush in (re-open the churches) again?

“Please keep safe and do your best to keep alive by keeping all the necessary rules. We know that by the grace of God this pandemic like the others before it has an expiry date. It shall not see our end. We shall see its end in the mighty name of Jesus.”

  1. I don’t know what political leaders around the world want to gain from this pandemic. Even after the Nigerian doctor presently in USA came up to recommend drugs to fight covid19, they all turn it down without doing proper research.
Though covid19 might be real, I still do not believe the numbers the give us everyday pertaining covid19 cases.
