Big brother Naija is evil, we must clampdown on it – CAN
The Christian association of Nigeria (CAN) has kicked against the ongoing Big brother Naija reality TV show.
In a statement by the chairman of CAN in Rivers State, Stanley Dimkpa, he describing the show as evil and urged well-meaning Nigerians to join in the protest against the show as well and stop its patronage.
“As Christians this ceremony is aimed at promoting diligence and reinvigorating a positive lifestyle and collectively making our state better.
“A state where tribe, creed, political party and church do not matter in the scheme of things but a state where equity, equality, qualification, truth and hard work are necessary criteria and conditions for justice.
“Promotion and appointment in all fields of life where reward and good morals will encourage everyone to abhor evil and do what is right. Romans 12:9.
“All these are needed to replace what we have in our world today where societal ills, crimes and immoral behaviours are geometrically increasing due to bad governance, poverty and reward for wrong doing, such as Big Brother Naija.
“I want to emphasize Big Brother Naija because all of us have to fight collectively to stop this immoral act and injustice in our land, as Christians and Africans, we have respect for mankind.
“For those of us that have allowed our friends and families to encourage the patronage of Big Brother Naija, know that it is evil and we must clampdown on it,” he said.
When our government doesn’t do right things, all what in their minds are selfishness instead of promoting educative programs, reward those who emerge as best graduating students, they will be giving them 100k but if it’s immoral act you are entitle to 100million etc. Government should wake up to their responsibilities by promoting moral, educative programs and reward them with something reasonable.
How does this concern CAN. How many people has CAN empowered in their life talkless of making one millionaire. A toothless Bulldog Can that can not influence anything. Do anybody force them to watch the programme. If they are not comfortal with the programme, why not ignore it. CAN always make empty threat that makes no impart at all
Don’t think the show can be clamped down,because it has many viewers and supporters.
