The concept behind bride price is based in trust issues. The father is trying to ascertain the fact that whosoever that’s willing to take his daughter’s hand in marriage must first win his trust because girls are priceless jewels in the eyes of the father’s
I don’t know the reason why you said this but I tell you that ladies are not objects sold with bride price

The concept of bride price is not in a bid to tag the girl as a commodity but it serves as a platform to show that you’re worthy of being capable of handling a father’s daughter

Oh dear, its not the ideal thing to do. Bride price is the price tag of respect, value and prestige a woman has as the worth over a mans property. Without bride price, a woman is more or less a piece of property a man keep in his home. Though its being exploited in some areas in Igboland, but bride price can not detarr a serious suitor from tying the nupital knot. The ceremony alone make it indelible to the man that he is taking someone precious away from her family home to bear his name and make family with him. Its not only the material things involved that matters but the slomnization of the couple

Not scrap but reduce the bride price because when you marry without paying anything it will amount to misuse of opportunities. Therefore, they should tamper justice mercy by reducing the money collected.
