This Government is the most sincere the country has ever had – Minister of Health, Ehanire
The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire has called out members of the National Association of Resident Doctors in Nigeria to call off their strike action and return to work.
Members of the National Association of Resident Doctors had begun a nationwide strike on Monday, June 15 over the failure of the government to pay them their COVID-19 allowances among other issues.
Speaking in an interview on channels, Ehanire said the Buhari-led government is the most sincere and serious government this country has ever had as they keep to their promises.
He further added that the country is going through a difficult time and its certainly not the time to add any further problems.
“We have made it clear to them (doctors) that this government is the most sincere and serious government this country has ever had. His (Buhari) word is his bond.
“This government has a record of being sympathetic to people, of meeting its obligations and keeping to its promises.” he said
“This government does things differently. This is a government that says its word and keeps to its words. We would not do anything to hurt you. We work in your (doctors) interest.
“We are going through a very difficult time with other countries and this is quite clearly not the time to add more to our problems by deciding to go on strike. I am worried that we are probably the first and only country where doctors have decided to go on strike.” he added
Sincere and serious my foot!
We haven’t seen any tangible thing and what’s holding you guys from paying the doctors after receiving large sums of money from international organisations and sponsors
Eeeeeh, what would you say about Yaradua’s regime (of blessed memory), everybody knows that we can have a president like him. Where you are using 13billion fed children at home during this COVID 19, where head of anti corruption accused of diverting seized properties to mention few. You are going through a difficult time yet your take home didn’t reduce, haba! Don’t be selfish.
