Ajimobi: Our Father is still alive – Daughter reacts to rumours of his death
There have been rumours that former Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi had died on Thursday, June 18 after slipping into a coma due to COVID-19 complications.
His Daughter-in-law, Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi in a post on twitter denounced the rumours, she wrote;
”Thank you for all the messages but our father is still alive, alhamdulillah. When it is our time we will all die so wait first”
Tweeting about the alleged demise of Senator Ajimobi, an investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo quoting his reliable source of over six years said the governor had died due to underlying health conditions worsened by Coronavirus.
His tweet;
“A source who has never failed me in six years of knowing him has just confirmed to me the death, in Lagos today, of Abiola Ajimobi, former Governor of Oyo State, due to underlying health conditions worsened by the Coronavirus.
In a press statement by Ajimobi’s Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Bolaji Tunji disputing the rumour said;
“My attention has been drawn to the rumours circulating on the social media about my principal. Kindly disregard. We, however, continue to pray for him. Thank you all for the show of concern.”
According to reports, Ajimobi has been in Intensive Care Unit at a hospital in Lagos, since he was rushed to the place few weeks ago after it emerged he had contracted COVID-19.
